Brekkie at The Creamery

The B man and I stumbled on an adorable little place in SOMA a few blocks from our house. The Creamery is a perfect little spot for coffee, breakfast or lunch and has a hand full of tables outside where you can enjoy the Cali sun, or in our case, experience the crazy SF wind. You should try it if you're in town.

The Creamery was also written up as the #1 Coolest Hangout Spots in Silicon Valley by Business Insider. Oh, and hey, my fav brewery, 21st Amendment made #5. I guess that makes me cool, right? Right? RIGHT?!?!?!

Transamerica Pyramid Building

The B man and I walked around the city and did some exploring in our area. We walked past the Transamerica Pyramid building and I just had to stop and take some pictures! As the tallest building in SF,its pretty easy to spot!

According to Wikipedia:

The Transamerica building was commissioned by Transamerica CEO John (Jack) R. Beckett, with the claim that he wished to allow light in the street below. Built on the site of the historic Montgomery Block, it has a structural height of 853 ft (260 m) and has 48 floors of retail and office space. Here are some interesting facts about it:
  • The building's façade is covered in crushed quartz, giving the building its light color.
  • The four-story base contains 16,000 cu yd (12,000 m3) of concrete and over 300 mi (480 km) of steel rebar.
  • It has 3,678 windows.
  • The building's foundation is 9 feet (2.7 m) thick, the result of a 3 day, 24-hour continuous concrete pour. Several thousand dollars in quarters and change were thrown into the pit by observers surrounding the site at street level during the pouring, for good luck.
  • Only two of the building's 18 elevators reach the top floor.
  • The original proposal was for a 1,150 ft (350 m) building, which for a year would have been the second-tallest completed building in the world. The proposal was rejected by the city planning commission, saying it would interfere with views of San Francisco Bay from Nob Hill.

Napa Winery Tour

Our second weekend here in San Francisco, we got invited to go to Napa with the B man's uncle. If there is ANYONE you want to go to Napa with, its him. He knows his stuff and is a local at some of the places! We made plans to meet him at his house in Larkspur and then we'd drive the 30 minute drive (yes, ONLY 30 minutes) to Napa to hit up a few places!

The weather was an amazing upper 50s/lower 60s and it was perfect weather to sit back and relax at Napa.

First stop was Silver Oak winery. I think this was my favorite of the day! They had 2 fab Cabernet Sauvignons that were to.die.for! The Napa Valley and the Alexander Valley were amazing. The tasting fee is $20 each; $10 of that goes towards your purchase. You also get to keep the glass!

The outside was beautiful! Just another beautiful day in California ;)

Some of the wine barrels.

This picture showed the different sizes of wine bottles and each of their names. Holy cow those bottles get large!

This is where they keep some of their wines...I could stand in there all day! But alas, we had to move on to the next one.

Next stop, Plumpjack Cellars winery!

Although this stop was short, but sweet, I'd have to say I wasn't particularly fond of this wine. But maybe if I had gone here first, instead of after Silver Oak, I might have liked it. I did really like their grounds, I liked the shaded areas where you could enjoy a glass (or 3). Tasting fees are $20 each.

Third stop was Viader winery. This place had a BEAUTIFUL views! It was quite tranquil. Because the B man's uncle is in the wine club, we got the tastings at a discount, otherwise its not cheap! This place was gated and you needed to be buzzed in! Oh you fancy now....

The fourth, and final stop was at Domaine Carneros! Because his uncle is also in a wine club here, we got to go to the special terrace area and enjoy our champagne tasting. I wish we had more time here because it was beautiful. We needed to rush back because we were going to miss our ferry back to the city. Tastings start at $30. This place was gorgeous and I'd love to go back!

I could get used to this life....

We had to pick up his uncle's and his business partner's wine lot. #firstworldproblems

21st Amendment Brewery

I think we've found our new favorite brewery! And its only a 15 minute walk from our house to boot! The 21st Amendment Brewery is fantastic.  I don't know what I am going to do when my favorite beer there, the Watermelon Wheat, is out of season! I wish they sold it year-round :(

The website describes the watermelon beer as:

Like Lady Liberty, we stand for independence and perseverance. In the pursuit of innovative beer, there is no obstacle too great. No journey too long. No fruit too gigantic. This American wheat beer is brewed with real watermelon, for a flavor that’s surprisingly crisp, dry and refreshing—summer in a can.

Hell or High Watermelon Wheat is our summer seasonal beer available from April through September in six pack cans and on draft. We start by brewing a classic American wheat beer, which undergoes a traditional secondary fermentation using fresh watermelon. A straw-colored, refreshing beer with a kiss of watermelon aroma and flavor.

SF Giants Game

The second weekend I was here, the BF decided we should go to a baseball game with one of his work friends. I said hey, why not and we were greeted with sun and beautiful weather! Such great weather that I got an awkward sunburn! The stadium is only about 10 minutes from my house. I don't normally like watching baseball, but I couldn't beat the gorgeous weather and a W-I-N for the Giants! I even decided I'd be a local and get a SF Giants shirt.

Its not the Nats, but I'll take it. Especially with that view!!!

Beautiful day for a ball game!

Got some new kicks too! Awesome mint Vans. #ToDieFor!

My New Home

Well…this is it. I live in San Francisco!  We got a baby tiny apartment in an AH-MAZING location and we've settled in. We're not all un-packed, but hey, baby steps, right?!?! I've been busy since moving going to Texas and back for work so I haven't had too much time on my hands to spruce up our place. All in due time.

Our location is a 5 minute walk to the water and the Bay Bridge. We're about a 10 minute walk to the stadium, so we've been having a blast finding new places. Its NO JOKE that San Francisco is expensive!!! But #YOLO, right? I think so.
