California's Oldest Restaurant: Tadich Grill

Hannah and I visited not only San Francisco's oldest, but California's oldest restaurant for a cocktail!  Tadich Grill has been around for 160 years!! If you want to see its whole history from Day 1, click here.

First opened as a coffee stand during California's famed Gold Rush, Tadich Grill has established a tradition of San Francisco's top restaurants. We just stopped in for a cocktail, so we each had a Pimms. It was fitting that the two of us were drinking Pimms together again :)

I Host my first San Francisco Guest!

I finally got to host my first San Francisco guest!! I was so excited!!! My bf left on a 5 month deployment and how perfect that Hannah planned her birthday week with me the next week! We both work from home, so it was perfect for her to come!

Thursday night, our friend Meghan was in town so we met her and her work friends for drinks at Velvet Cantina (hello margaritas!) and then we walked to Beretta for an AMAZING dinner!  Love when people are in town :)

Friday, we decided to make a trip out to Napa! This is my 2nd trip and I knew I needed to stop at Domaine Carneros AGAIN! I mean, who doesn't start their day off at 10:30am with champagne? That's how I want to start every day! We started with the champagne flight on the terrace of their beautiful chateau. The day started off a bit overcast, but the good ole sun decided to shine down bright on us!

Me with my flight

4 glasses of champagne

This should be done every day....

Our ridiculous haul...

So long, farewell....until next time.

Next up, we went to Homewood Winery. It was starting to warm up and be beautiful outside!

After our tasting, we took a glass outside to enjoy. After copious amounts of sun screen, we sipped our wine and caught up on all the good gossip!

After our glasses, we walked out back to a beautiful view!

And then of course we had to play in the vines....

Hahahaha...typical Hannah fashion...

Hello beautiful......

We're really in Napa!!! (well, Sonoma here...)

From here, we walked across the street (no, literally across the street). To Carneros Brewing Company, a Latino family owned brewery. Hannah asked for a beer but they only handed her a taste.

We rectified that pretty quickly with another look at the menu and ordered our drinks.

And then we went outside and found the most amazing discovery! Their grounds were BEAUTIFUL!!!

See, I don't lie.....

And then we found the weeping willows!!!!

Goofballs...as usual!

After a good 20 minutes playing in the trees, we headed to our last and final stop at Gloria Ferrer vineyards.

There were these odd weird tall statues, so of course we had to pose with them!

I mean, look how gorgeous this place is!

My lovely companion for the day...

And me...

What an amazing and epic day!!!!

Yep, that's me....

With the grocery cart.  I truly live in the city now, with no car. So, being that I'm in my 30s and no longer care how ridiculous I look, I BOUGHT A GROCERY CART! Yes, that's right. And I love it :) I was tired of hauling heavy grocery items home with me because I have a 20 minute walk from the closest Safeway or Whole Foods ....or Target! And with my bf gone for 5 months, I figured now is the best time to purchase! I love it. Its pretty tiny and I already want a bigger one, but its ok, because it works for now! Here it is with not many groceries...

And one pic with it packed to the brim! I mean, because how else could I carry 2 grocery bags and a 6 pack of beer?

Pelican Inn and Muir Beach

Catching up on some old posts there were in draft form:

After our jaunt to Muir Woods, we wanted to explore nearby Muir Beach. So we loaded up our truck again and set off to explore! We stumbled on this adorable little inn called Pelican Inn. There was an outdoor wedding going on that we didn't want to interrupt so I didn't get any pictures of the outside, but suffice to say it was ADORABLE!

How cute is this little pub?!?!

The beach was FREEZING...but we wanted to see it anyways! We went down to the beach and saw groups of people around huge fire pits! Genius...guess they had to get there really early to get that spot.

Bay to Breakers 12K Race

Wow, good lord I have a lot of blogging to catch you all up on!  Back in May the B man and I ran the epic Bay to Breakers 12K race. Its the oldest consecutively run annual footrace in the world, a staple of the city by the bay since 1912.  Its more than a race, its a shit show. Like, A SHIT SHOW. There were people wasted at 7am! Costumes abound...and even those who are not wearing a costume...or clothes AT ALL.

The route follows from the 'Bay' Embarcadero (2 blocks from our house) to the other side of the city to the 'Breakers' at the ocean. This was a FANTASTIC way to see all that the city has. Though I was pretty out of shape to just bang out 7 miles so most of it was painful hahaha.

But not as painful as this kid was having it...one of us was hung over from drinking the day before. Sucka!!

This was the craziness of the starting line!  It was CRAZY! People threw soft tortilla shells into the crowd...not sure of the significance but its a tradition.

As the race began it was so crowded because a lot of people don't actually register to run, they just join in the party.

Running up some of the MANY hills in San Francisco!

Yep, one of the naked men on the course....why can't the YOUNG and CUTE ones be running naked?

And then us at the end!!!

Hello beautiful ocean, you were much appreciated!
