SOMA Street Food Park

If you haven't been to the SOMA street food park yet, you're sure missing out on something great.  They have a huge open area down in SOMA (11th & Division (near Harrison) St) with several food trucks that change daily, open seating and a few TVs to watch sports and movies on.  Its great in the summer, just make sure you bring a jacket to ward off the wind in the cooler months.  You can watch Warriors (or Giants or 49s) games or go to Trivia Nights on Tuesdays, or one of their many theme days.

This is what the website says about the park:

The SoMa StrEat Food Park is a culinary carnival and urban playground with a rotating lineup of culinary curiosities that are sure to amaze, delight and astound. The park features food trucks, beer, wine, carnival games, wifi, TV screens, and heat lamps for the cold nights. Our park is fun for the whole family even the dog.

They have this fun beer tent that serves beer, sangria and wine.  Its bottomless Sangria on Saturdays and Mimosas on Sunday. If that's not a reason to visit, I don't know of any others!

Mmmm beer.

Their trucks rotate daily (even between lunch and dinner). This time we ate from the Odang Udon truck.

And then I got a burrito from the taco truck. I really wanted to LOVE it, but there was some SUPER spicy sauce on it, so instead I switched with the B Man and ate his udon.

And then I thought I needed to try the chocolate covered bacon from the Bacon Truck....BIG FAIL. It was so gross :(

But overall, we had a great time!

Erika's Wedding

Talk about horrible timing to break a bone in your foot and have to be crippled for 6 weeks. After #Napagate happened on Friday, I had to head to DC on Sunday.  I was going for a week vacation (DC, Maryland, Delaware) then down south to Newport News for a wedding on the weekend, then fly to Dallas for work for a week, and then head BACK to DC for a wedding in Fredericksburg. Let me tell you, its hard work being not 100%.

BUT it was well worth it to see my besties!  In the photo above is (L to R) Jessica (lives in PA), Nikki (lives in NC), Melissa (lives in VA) and me (CA). That's a lot of locations coming together to see Erika marry her beau in a beautiful church in Suffolk.

Ross looked so nervous!!

Not the best photo but I was too busy crying to get a good one.

Afterwards we headed to Downtown Hampton, VA, back to our stomping grounds circa 2008/2009.  Sometimes we clean up pretty well (and I made sure the person taking the photo cropped out my bandaged foot).

First stop was Taphouse. Man, this place has A LOT of drunken memories. Tears at the bar, phones dropped in the toilet, and plenty of strange men trying to pick us up.

Wish this picture turned out better because I was so happy to have the 3 of us together again!  Over a decade of friendship right there!

And then off to the reception to celebrate the new bride and groom!  Their friends home brew beer and they made all of the beer at the reception! Except for the cider, which was from Bold Rock Cidery (which we visited during her bachlorette weekend).

We waited and waited until we got to see the new Mr & Mrs!

Whoa scary picture!
First dance as husband and wife

Besties :)

SO happy to be together again!

Ok, I'm not ruining this photo. Cheers to over TWENTY years of friendship!  This girl has seen me at my worst (and vice versa) and we're both happy and loving life these days.

The B man and I with the bride. Not sure why he always awkwardly sticks his neck out like that in photos, we're going to have to work on that one...

When you're crippled, you get to take a seat....conveniently next to the beer....

And then at the end of the night it wouldn't be in true fashion if Nikki and Melissa weren't in tears...so they did just that and cried. Man, it was fun to be back with the gang!

Wine and Champagne Tasting with the Fam

Back in October, B Man's cousins came to California for a vacation and we showed them a great time in Napa. So much of a good time that I ended up fracturing a bone on my foot....lesson learned, don't mix heels and a full day in Napa. But ANYWAYS.....

We started off at Domaine Carneros.....(of course!).  I had to pick up my wine shipment and why not indulge with a few glasses of champagne.

And then an awkward photo shoot gets started....

Ok, that's better

Nic and Lesley

Me and the B Man.

Next up was a trip to Trefethen. They are currently going under a renovation and you do the wine tasting in a tent outside, but I'd still recommend you go because its AMAZING.  And let me just say you get 5 tastings for $25 and these tastings are very generous!

Next up, we stopped at Oakville Grocery Store to pick up some goodies to eat. If you are ever in the Napa area, you should stop at this place!

From there we head to Rutherford Hill Winery. This place is GORGEOUS!  We grabbed two bottles and headed out to the picnic area to eat our food.

All of the yummy goodness!

A bunch of happy picnic'ers

Why are you taking my picture?

Last stop was at Mumm Napa for some more champagne

Gorgeous view

Parents grateful for a week with no children!

Our loot for the day!  And p.s. - no wonder why I broke my foot, after 4 generous tastings in the Napa area....

Happy New Year! Let's get this party started....again

MAN!  Its been MONTHS since I've updated the blog. Sorry kids, I've been out and about having so much fun living live! And I totally kind of forgot about this blog. Whoops!  I'll try to get back into the game and keep up with this again. 2016 is going to be great!  We have plenty of trips planned and maybe a potential move (no, we don't have any details). So let's see where this year takes us!

DAR Presidio Chapter

I can't deny that I'm a joiner...I joined Phi Mu in college, I joined Junior League when I moved to San Francisco and now I've joined DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). Well, I joined DAR in DC, but never ended up doing anything with them.  When my friend Lauren here said she just joined DAR....I remembered that I had joined before!  I figured, what the hell, I need to make new friends here in SF, so I'll give it a shot.

We had our meeting at the beautiful St. Mark's Lutheran Church

They made the meeting really fun and interactive and even had FOOD! You clearly know the way to my heart when you offer food, AND make them theme appropriate!!
